Become a Safe Sitter® Instructor

Safe Sitter® involvement has enriched the lives of countless youth, families, Instructors, and sponsoring sites.  Instructors typically find that teaching Safe Sitter® is both simple and worthwhile.  Our Instructor Qualifications  guidelines will help you determine if you could teach Safe Sitter®.

All Instructors teach at registered Safe Sitter® teaching sites and complete a national training workshop before teaching a Safe Sitter® class.  The Instructor Workshops are taught by Safe Sitter® National Trainers and conducted in more than 50 cities throughout the United States.

Safe Sitter® Instructor Workshops are co-sponsored with the Indiana University School of Nursing and the Office of Lifelong Learning.  The Indiana University School of Nursing Continuing Education Program is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.  Safe Sitter® Instructor Workshops have been approved for 5.7 contact hours.  Attendance at the entire workshop is required to receive contact hours.

If there is no Safe Sitter® teaching site in your area, please contact us and we will happily work with you to start one.

We are confident that you'll find being a part of Safe Sitter® to be a simple yet richly rewarding experience, one that reaps lifelong benefits for children, youth, Instructors, and your organization.
