Your association with the American Heart Association allows you even more flexibility to start offering Safe Sitter® to your community. You may either start a Safe Sitter® Teaching Site or teach as an Independent Safe Sitter® Instructor.

Business Requirements

Teaching Sites must be one of the following:

  • Nonprofit organization with an independent board of directors,
  • Government agency, or
  • Legal entity such as C-Corporation, S-Corporation, LLC, LLP or partnership. Please note that a sole proprietorship is not eligible to start a Teaching Site. These legal entities must provide certificate of insurance showing proof of a minimum of $500,000 of general liability coverage and listing Safe Sitter, Inc. as an additional insured.

Site and Instructor Fees

A one-time site registration fee of $699 provides you with everything you need to get started including training for one Instructor. In addition, you’ll receive lifetime program support, a Game Pack, and a Graphics Pack for when you teach the class. There is no annual fee.

  • New Teaching Sites receive a special registration fee of only $50 per Instructor for any additional Instructors registered at the time of the New Site Application (a $25 per person savings).
