  • Know how to call for help in an emergency

CHILD CARE SKILLS

  • Like children and are willing to accept responsibility for your child’s life
  • Have the patience to handle difficult behavior
  • Have the attention span to actively watch and entertain your child

FIRST AID & RESCUE SKILLS

  • Know how to rescue a choking infant or child
  • Are competent in basic first aid skills
  • Are able to stay calm in an emergency

LIFE & BUSINESS SKILLS

  • Have completed a babysitting preparation course
  • Have experience watching other children such as younger siblings
  • Are trustworthy
